Plastic Bertrand in Montreal

Montreal Mirror - Music : Plastic Bertrand: "Plastic Bertrand stages his Quebecois comeback". I don't know why the quebecois are so keen to see Plastic Bertrand back on stage but I followed the frenezy and went to see the Belgian 'King of the divan' with my friends who were so determinate to go. We managed to get cheap $9 tickets so why not see my fellow Belgian citizen and idol from when I was a kiddy.
Advertised as his first comeback to Quebec after 20 years, Plastic visibly didn't even remember most of his lyrics as he needed the help of a huge monitor in front of him where he could follow the lyrics. A bit karaoké style if you see what I mean.
Anyway, in 20 years, he didn't improve his music and if the covers are quite fun to hear, the original of "Ça plane pour moi", "Tout petit la planète" and "Stop ou encore" are just pain to my ears.
I even felt umcomfortable to be from the same country as this guy. Funny enough, the crowd didn't seem to notice how bad was his music as they were overcomed by his presence.
The only bearable music was when he sang with DJ frigid and later on with Poxy on more electro rhytm. It made me think, why on earth did he not adapt his music and make it more electronic just like the popular covers that are made about his songs these days. Anyway, the guy is too old me think and sometimes it's time to go to bed and leave the stage for the young kids.
