Courtesy of Minke, this well designed Guide to Electronic Music. It's a clever and useful tools to discover most type of electronic music, eventhough I couldn't find the electronica genre I'm currently into. Also, I don't agree with all the comments made and surely not the ones critisizing the UK techno and trance music but good job this site anyway.

How does it feel at -45C?

I don't know at which coldest temperature has my body ever been exposed but I think that today I broke the record. It's minus 45C right now and believe me even if I only live across the street from my school, this is the worse trip I had to go through. Walking more than 3 or 5mins outside become painful. Ok, I'm not wearing all the hats and gears I should because I know it's not far but still, it's painful! The first few seconds, you usually feel something tingling in your nose and you wonder what it is. In fact, it's the hairnose that are freezing while you breath. Then the cold start burning any exposed skin. The icey air that you breath is freezing the sinus too, just like when you eat an icecream too quickly and it hurts...eek!
When i finally reached the door after this 3mins trip outside, I bless myself for not having chosen that beautiful flat in Le Plateau where I would have had to walk 15 to 20mins to get to in the cold everyday. That would have killed me. I love my flat, nice and warm!!!:-)

Flu widespread in Quebec

Am I the only one to find this frightening!? The linked flu report map shows the province of Quebec (where I live) with the highest Flu level in Canada. I have to go to school tomorrow but I don't fancy catching the flu from others. What can I do? I'd like to zoom in the map and see what is the level like in the HEC building.

Cheap flights London-Montreal

Someone just told me that they manage to get a ticket for 200GBP for a return tickets London-Montreal. I checked on the website of
Canadian Affair and yes, it's true. For instance, if you leave on the 2nd and return on the 8th of May, it only cost 198GBP taxes inclusive. Other dates should work as well. So Mia, what was your excuse again for not coming to Montreal??? Same for all of you city slackers. Some clubbing or skiing in Montreal wouldn't kill you really...So get moving, go buy a ticket and come and see me!!! ;-P

Trying my new skis!

We went skiing last night with Sylvie in Bromont until 11pm and went home around 1am because of the after ski thing ;-). We tried our brand new skis for the first time. They're a bit like carving skis so it's fun to turn with it. It's funny because we ended up buying exactly the same skis equipment so people think we're sisters. Sylvie is an experimented skier, so she can go anywhere so we met the guys out there and I managed to follow them on the Black slopes. It was my first time!!! Usually, i avoid these as I'm nothing like an expert and prefer to stay on the safe side but I had loads of fun. So now, I don't do the green ones (easy) anymore, I do the blue (difficult) and black ones (expert). Next step would be the double black ones (super expert) but not before I feel comfortable on the black ones. Hmmm..I'm so happy I took so many ski classes while skiing in Europe.

Wolfy at Burning Man Festival

I just found this really cool website showing the pics of Wolfy (a little 'wolf' teddy bear) taken at the Burning Man festival that I would die to go. I won't be able to go this year because of the MBA but I'd like to set my own Burning Man trip project and go with a few friends in 2005. If anyone is up for it, just shout!

NYE Blast

So NYE was a blast this year. After having so many different plans to choose from and plans changing all the time, we ended up deciding the night before where we would go. Stef, a friend of mine, organised a party the night before with some friends. We had a good time smoking the chicha (Egyptian pipe) and eating delicious food that she prepared. The plans for NYE was to go to the Neon Love party organised at the SAT.
SAT is an excellent place to go as it is not like the big commercial venues with 'in your face/up their asses' crowd like you can find in Montreal. No, it's a very chilled place with excellent DJ's, techno/electro music and straight/gay/trans crowd. DJ frigid was playing in the sub-floor some Electrotrash like he does at Unity 2 and a bunch of DJ from New York were playing some really good techno on the ground floor. The place was crowded and everyone had an ace time. They were meant to play til 3am but they lasted to 5am which was extremelly appreciated by the crowd and myself :-)!!!
