Just went to watch the movie11"09"01. It merged the efforts of 11 international directors who were asked to commit their subjective conscience to the topic of 9-11. Each director produced a segment for the film exactly 16,057 frames long. This lasts 11 minutes, 9 and 1/24 seconds, to symbolize 11-9-2001, the date of the 9-11 attack, in a commonly used international format.
The most powerful of the shorts and my favorite one is also the most simple. The mexican director's keep the screen entirely black, interrupting it every 30 seconds or so with retina-assaulting bursts of the World Trade Center carnage. The soundtrack is an audio collage, mixing news reports of the tragedy with cell-phone calls and e-mails from victims on the aircraft and in the tower, finally fading to a cacophony of Arab voices. Much of the impact is subliminal, and it is impossible to watch it without feeling a lump in the throat, or a nod of agreement with the final statement, printed in Arabic and English: "Does God's light guide us or blind us?"
Amazing feeling as the images indeed blind us in contrast with the dark projection room. My interpretation of it is that we think that CNN's image light us on what actually happen and what is important. All you see is people jumping from the towers, etc. In fact, it blinds us on what the situation actually is and that is illustrated in several movies of 11"09"01. In fact, US did loads of damages to numerous countries and nations and some of these people and actions are backfighting US in the most tragical way anyone could imagine. It's sad but this is the reality we need to look at to let God's light guide us and not blind us.

I had to nick this website from Mia. La petite lesson en franglais: "Here you will learn how to speak French like a true Montreal native." they said. Well, be careful because I don't understand most of the French they're teaching on this website. I think it's made by an English francophile a bit drunk but it's good fun.

Map of the the countries I've been so far.The stat says 17 countries which constitute 7% of the globe. Not much... Good thing I came to Canada but maybe I should do a little trip in Moscow to get some more red on my map.

I swear I've never used any of these:10 Terrible pick-up lines: "1. There must be something wrong with my eyes because I can't take them off you.
2. If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?
3. Does God know you've escaped from heaven?
3. Bond. James Bond.
4. Do you have a map because I'm lost in your eyes.
5. I'm here now darlin'. What were your other two wishes?
6. Haven't I seen you on the cover of Playboy?
7. I feel like Richard Gere because I'm standing next to the Pretty Woman.
8. Is it hot in here or is it just you?
9. Wow! Are those real?
10. You look so good, I could drink your bath water! "

Courtesy of Mia, The Big Questions. My favorites questions that I myself wonder about: In languages that give objects a gender, who designates the gender of a new invention? When does afternoon become evening? Why do obstetricians and gynaecologists leave the room when you get undressed if they are going to see it all anyway? Why is it that others can tickle me, but I can't really tickle myself? Scientifically speaking, how long does it take for food to appear on one's hips once it has left the lips? What causes the headache you get when you eat ice-cream too fast? Why do cattle and sheep grazing in a field all face in the same direction? How did "ta" become a substitute for "thank you"? How do actors in a film or play produce tears on the spot?

ashkan sahihi is an amazing photographer. I love his pics of the Women of the Israel Defense Forces. Made me think women army must be so much fun. The Drugs series is interesting too.

Ok, my big decision of the day is that I'll skip the trip to NYC that I was planning to go in March and instead I'm going to my favorite place in the world, the one that feels like home, LONDON. I feel so released. Since I arrived in Montreal, I couldn't look at any London or friends' pics without feeling homesick. I wasn't meant to see London before the end of my MBA so these 7 days in heaven will be such a treat. I can't wait to see my dearest friends and go back to these places and clubs where I used to spend most of my time with my evil twin sister Mia. London, here I come! Youhou!!!:-)

I discover something new today. Strapless undies for males. Very well engineered for quickies in clubs but I wonder how reliable is the front part if the bloke start running or dancing. Who would like to volunteer for some testing?
