Stereo nominated at House Music Awards

Stereo, my favorite After hours in Montreal is nominated as best club night at the House Music Awards against 7 others club located in Ibiza and London like DTPM @ Fabric and Release Yourself @ Turnmills in London where I managed to sneak in once when I lived in London.
The good news is that David Morales is spinning at Stereo tomorrow night and.. I'll be there!!!:-)

Here is what they say about Stereo: "The Stereo experience is a rarity in today’s club scene. The club resonates positive, almost absurdly happy vibrations and attracts people with the truest sense of loyalty and love for music and dance. Very few other clubs, if any at all, can boast of patrons with their logo tattooed permanently on their bodies. For many, in Stereo exists the original inspiration for house music conveyed through the energy and spirit its_ long list of internationally renowned Djs and patrons. Stereo truly is a sanctuary in Montreal for those who care not about your typical night on the town filled with vanity and arrogance. It encompasses the raw attitude of “just get up and dance”! www.stereo-nightclub.com"

A friend of mine went to Burning man this year, here are some pics:Burning Man Photos. Impressive! I already said that but I repeat, I'd really like to go next year. If anyone is up for it and serious about it, let me know.

Dreeny the jobseeker

Ok, as of today, I started my official jobhunt. In order to record my efforts in that quest, I created another blog only for that purpose. I will keep posting here about other things but for jobhunting related news, visit this blog: Dreeny the jobseeker: " ".

No more "Belle de Jour"

OMG! Belle de Jour, the blog of a london call girl which is also my favorite blog (after Mia's one of course...) that I read every once in a while is ending. Her last post dated of September 15 says: "I'm afraid, darlings, the time has come for me to go(...)All things pass. The time will never be right to finish the diary - so I am ending it now."
Argh! NO!!! It has only been 2 days she stopped so hopefully she'll change her mind and will blog again. She won the prize of "best blog of the year" by the Guardian in UK last year and then became quite famous but always hide her identity. She has now book and movies plans. Why don't she stick to her blog? Anyway, we'll see. Best of luck to whatever she decide to do.

11 september technical failure?!

I checked the stat of this blog today Nedstat and discovered this message:
"Due to a technical failure between 11 September 18:00 and 12 September 10.00 hours CET, it is possible that not all measurements were collected during this period. We apologize for any inconveniences."

Of course, I thought of a terrorist attack first maybe I'm wrong. My 5 cents dodgy theory was that they shut this stat site down as it is widely used by many sites around the world coz it's free and damn good. It can record many things related to the visitors so maybe they didn't want to leave any trace and be seen as they were preparing some 'machiavelic' plans....like destroying the Internet or the .com websites.

Anyway, this is only the fruit of my imagination but I wonder if they tried anything this year and if any of their plans worked. I haven't watched the news for ages so I have no clue.

Dilemna and life choices that are on my mind right now

After the Prom Ball, the graduation ceremony, the MBA is reaching its end. Everyone is leaving Canada or starting looking for jobs. I still have to finish that one course and then will be done by October 10, which is a month from now. In the meantime, I'm still finishing assignments from the previous period, hosting my family visiting me, partying to celebrate the return and leaving of friends. This is a very intense period in emotions and stress too. It's running fast, too fast. I spent an intensive year with people that were new to me but then became really close friends and now they are leaving in a matter of days and it is hard to realise that I won't see them for a long time or maybe never for some of them.

On my side, i need to organize my life as well and make some choices. Choices that I must take within the next few days or weeks and that will shape the next few years of my life and what I want to do with it. This MBA was so intense that I didn't have time to think of it yet and now the deadline is coming up. The questions that are on my mind now are: Do I want to stay in Montreal and stay with my 'new' close friends here and stay another year working in Canada? Or do I want to go back to Europe or elsewhere and discover a new place and new people? Or do I want to go back where I already been like London and see my many dear friends there and live in that city that I love?
Another type of choice is the career wise one. I know I want to switch career from IT/HR and go into Marketing where I have almost no relevant experience and start from scratch but where? Back to ING working for the banking industry that I don't really like but where I have many helpful contacts or do I want to make my own way in a new company where they've never heard of me?

So many questions that I asked myself and that people are asking me. I decided I posted this so you know what's on my mind and what I don't know but where are the options. In a month of time, hopefully I'll know where I'll work and will be able to give you at least a location and an employer name.
Locations wise, my cristal ball is a bit fuzzy but I think I can see either: Montreal (30% chance); London (20%); Amsterdam (15%);Brussels (10%) or any random location (25%) if I'm lucky that would sounds like Sydney, NYC, Milan, Madrid or Berlin. The wind of change is blowing on me so watch this space to know what will happen.
